The HeArt of Dance

A Portrait Artist Project Celebrating the Artistry of Dance.

There is so much more to a dancer than the costume, the performance, or the steps she has learned.

There are hours of practice. Sore feet. Determination. Confidence gained and confidence lost. Friendships, music, movement and that feeling she gets when she finally nails something she has worked on over and over again.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that is her.

The HeArt of Dance is a limited portrait artist project created to celebrate young dancers and the individual stories behind why they dance.

Applications are now open for 10–15 dancers to be photographed for this special project.

This isn't recital photography.

I want to create something different.

As a portrait artist, I'm interested in more than documenting what your dancer looks like in her costume. I want to capture the personality, strength, movement and emotion that make her her.

We'll create portraits that celebrate both sides of her—the dancer you've watched grow and work so hard, and the person underneath it all.

Because someday the shoes won't fit anymore.

The costumes will be packed away... and the little girl standing in your kitchen practicing the same move for the hundredth time will somehow be grown.

If your dancer is selected for The HeArt of Dance, you'll be able to choose between two participation options.

THE ENCORE $250

For families who already know they would love to have something tangible from their dancer's portrait session.

Your $250 participation fee includes your dancer's HeArt of Dance portrait session and a $400 artwork credit to use toward finished portrait artwork from the session.

You'll see the portraits at your personal ordering appointment and choose how you'd most love to preserve them.

Additional artwork is available, but there is no required purchase beyond your participation fee.

THE SPOTLIGHT $95

Want to simply be part of the project?

Your $95 participation fee includes your dancer's HeArt of Dance portrait session and one gifted watermarked, web-resolution image, selected by the artist, to share online.

There is no additional purchase requirement.

If you fall in love with your portraits you'll also have the opportunity to purchase finished artwork during your ordering appointment.

Who I'm Looking For

You don't have to be the "best" dancer.

You don't have to have the perfect technique.

And you certainly don't need to know how to pose.

I'm looking for dancers who light up when the music starts. Dancers who have worked incredibly hard.

Dancers who are just beginning and dancers who can't remember a time when dance wasn't part of their lives.

Most of all, I'm looking for young people who genuinely love to dance.

Tell Me About Your Dancer!

Complete the short application below and tell me a little about your dancer. If I think she may be a good fit for the project, I'll reach out personally so we can chat, answer your questions and talk about which participation option makes the most sense for your family.

*The HeArt of Dance is a limited Artist Project by Kerra Fischer Portraits. Participation is by application and availability. Selected participants will choose either the $95 Dancer participation option or the $250 Artist participation option prior to their portrait session.
