FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What makes your portrait sessions different?

My sessions are designed to create more than photographs—they are designed to become artwork for your home.

From wardrobe guidance to the final selection of your portrait artwork, every step is thoughtfully planned so you walk away with something tangible, lasting, and deeply meaningful—not just digital files that sit on a phone.

What types of sessions do you offer?

I specialize in children’s portrait sessions and high school senior portraits, with a focus on creating timeless, emotive artwork that celebrates this season of life.

Each session is customized to reflect your child’s personality in a refined, artistic way.

Periodically, family portrait sessions are offered. Be sure to sign up for our email list if you are interested in a family portrait session.

Where does the session take place?

Sessions can take place either:

  • In the studio on the White, Classic, or Scenic Set

  • On Location: During your Session Planning Meeting we will talk about your options. On location sessions are subject to additional travel or rental fees.

What should my child wear?

Wardrobe is one of the most important parts of creating a beautiful portrait!

You will receive personalized styling guidance, and I will help you select pieces that photograph beautifully, coordinate well, and elevate the final artwork. After we create the vision during your Session Planning Meeting, you will have access to email or text me to ensure you are comfortable with your final selections and the coordinate well with the overall creative vision.

Little girls size 6 to 12/14 are invited to utilize the Studio Closet. I have a variety of dresses from casual to formal ballgowns to elevate their portrait experience!

How long is a session?

Sessions typically last between 45-90 minutes. For smaller children, this can be shorter. I do work quickly to ensure we have all the "good energy". Small children get tired easily so I will work to create what we need. No worries! I have been doing this for a long time and I always get images you will love for your artwork!

When will I see my images?

Some sessions will include a SAME DAY ordering option. For shorter sessions and studio sessions, I can usually accommodate a same day appointment. This works by taking about an hour break after the session so I can cull and prepare your pre-touched images. You will return to the studio to select your artwork and then the images go into final retouching and production. Visit THE PROCESS page for a detailed breakdown of your Portrait Journey.

Do you provide digital images?

Yes, all printed artwork comes with a matching digital archive file. This file can be shared online and used for printing. I do not guarantee the quality of any other labs. Images do include a print release but NOT a copyright release.

How much should I expect to invest?

Most clients invest north of $2500. Artwork ordering options start at $400.

I have had clients spend $400, $4000, $10,000 and $30,000. It all depends on the scope of your Portrait Project! At your Session Planning Meeting we will discuss what your options are and you will have a good idea of your expected investment level at the end of the meeting. Payment plans are available for most purchases.

Because everything is custom, you only purchase what you love. I will guide you through options that fit your home and your vision.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. I offer a bi-weekly payment plan option for qualifying purchases (over $1000). I understand the importance of investing in artwork that will live with your family for generations.  Payment plans are a great way to budget and get exactly what you love. If you default on a payment plan option, you will not be offered the option for future studio visits.

How far in advance should I book?

I recommend booking 4-6weeks in advance, especially for seasonal sessions or limited projects.

I take on a limited number of clients each month to ensure a high level of care and attention.

Can parents or siblings be included?

Yes! Just ask for a FAMILY portrait session when you reserve your session. There may be a limited session option available or you could ask for a Custom Session to plan around your specific needs.

Why invest in professional portrait artwork?

Because this stage of life doesn’t last.

These portraits become part of your home, your story, and your child’s memory of how deeply they were loved. Long after the moment has passed, the artwork remains.

If you’ve been thinking about documenting this stage for your child, this is your invitation to begin....
